Introducing the Botanical Kittens

Gus:  Hi everyone!  Happy Sunday!  I am very excited to introduce you to our newest students!  There are six students in all.

Five of the kittens were found in a hoarder house (hoarder of things, not cats).  We've shared a video on our Facebook page of the kittens being rescued.  You can watch it here.

The 6th kitten's Mom, Matilda was brought to Great Plains SPCA by a kind lady.  Matilda was very pregnant.  Upon further examination, they realized Matilda had a baby stuck in the birth canal.  Matilda was rushed to surgery for a c-section. At first they thought there were no survivors out of the litter of four, but miraculously one of the kittens, Clover made it!  While Matilda recovered in ICU, Clover was taken care of by one the shelter's caring staff members.  Eventually, Clover was reunited with his mom.

And what a great mom, Matilda was!  Not only did she take immaculate care of Clover, she also took care of the 5 hoarder babies as her own a few weeks later.

Matilda did such a great job, she is now at the shelter were she can now find a home of her own.  We know she will find someone to love her just like she loved her babies!

Now without any further ado, let us introduce you to our newest students that we are lovingly calling the Botanical Kittens.  The 5 hoarder kittens were named in tribute to their adopted brother, Clover.

Clover

Cypress

Basil

Flora

Ivy
We also wanted to give you an update on Tawny and her babies.  The great staff at Great Plains SPCA came and got Tawny.  They took Tawny and her four healthy babies to another foster home where she is doing great.  It is a much better situation for Tawny to take care of her without worrying if Jaq is going to try and "help" again.
