Who is Mr. C?

Gus:  You may have noticed that the chalkboard on our blog says “In Memory of Mr. C” and wondered who is Mr. C?

Mr. C is the Mama’s Dad.  Unfortunately, he passed away in 2004. I know nothing will fill the hole left in Mama's heart after his passing, but I hope I can fill a piece of it.

Not only was he the best of Dads he was also a great teacher.  He taught high school math and science for 37 years.  He was a favorite of many students.  People still tell us stories of how he inspired and encouraged them.  Grandma loves hearing these stories!

Mr. C inspired us to teach foster kittens.  I only hope that I can be half the teacher and father figure to these kittens as he was to his students.

Happy Father’s Day Everyone!

  8. Thank you for sharing the story of your Dad with us. He sounds as if he was a pawesome man. My husband taught Special Ed in the Detroit Schools for 36 years so we know how hard teaching is and the fact that so many students loved your Dad makes it that more special.

I lost my Dad in 2001 so I can relate to that enormous pain too. My Dad was a well-known editorial cartoonist (Ray Osrin), Google him, you might enjoy his work.
