2015 - A Look Back

Gus:  As we close 2015, we thought this would be a great time to take a look back at all of our students we've helped this year.

The year started with a shy girl named Tracey.  Tracey was at the adoption center hiding in the back of her kennel when the Mama brought her to us.  Tracey started to accept humans while she was at our school.  Her new family continued her training.  Now Tracey is a loving, friendly girl with a great family.

The next litter of kitten was the Auntie kittens.  They were named after the Mama's Aunts that had passed away - Doris, Millie (Mildred), and Tooty (Gladys).  They were sweet little things!

Then we had the Furreign Exchange Students.  Asha Billi representing India.  Cosette LaFurr representing France.  Giovanni il Gatto representing Italy.  Otto von Katzen for Germany and Liam O'Moggy for Ireland.  Giovanni and Asha were the shy two out of the bunch.  In fact, Asha wouldn't be caught when it came time to be spayed so she spent a couple extra weeks with us.  During that time she really blossomed!

October was a great month in Kansas City with the Kansas City Royals winning the World Series.  It was only appropriate that this litter was named after some of our favorite Royals players.  This litter was also one of the friendliest we've ever had and they were even able to star in some videos for Hallmark!  Dani and Purrez were adopted by Mama's friend, Tara so we get to watch them grow up!  They are doing great but we hear they can be very naughty sometimes.

Next came the Soup Kittens.  The Mama kitty was named Campbell after the good Samaritan that found them.  Since it was starting to get cold, we decided to name them after different soups.  We had Sweet Pea, Pepper, Barley, and Noodle.

Finally, we end the year with Pat and Kit Kat.  They had already had their surgeries by the time they came to us.  There wasn't room at the adoption center so they came to us so they wouldn't get sick while waited.  Guess what?  They got sick anyway!  We were able to nurse them back to health.  Since they were extremely shy, we were also able to give them some lessons in humans.  They were really coming out of their shells by the time they went to the adoption center.  We are pleased to say they were adopted right after Christmas!

We were able to help 21 cats through our foster Acatemy where kittens were able to get healthy and learn lessons that will help them become successful, kitty family members.  2015 was a great year.  We can't wait to see what 2016 has in store for us!

Happy New Year!

First Foster Student Class of 2015

Gus:  Our sabbatical is over.  We have our first minion student of 2015 here at Purr's Training Acatemy.

Her name is Tracey.  She is 10 months old today.  She was found under someone's porch when she was 3 months old.

She has been in the shelter system since then.  She wasn't socialized properly when she was young.

She has made great progress since she was transferred to Great Plains SPCA in Merriam last month but Mama thinks she could benefit from our in depth training.

Since she is practically still a kitten, we decided we should try a lesson in play to try to make her feel more comfortable

We started with the Da Bird.  She was very interested and came out from under the bed.

She had fun killing it!

So far Tracey is a star student!
