2015 - A Look Back

Gus:  As we close 2015, we thought this would be a great time to take a look back at all of our students we've helped this year.

The year started with a shy girl named Tracey.  Tracey was at the adoption center hiding in the back of her kennel when the Mama brought her to us.  Tracey started to accept humans while she was at our school.  Her new family continued her training.  Now Tracey is a loving, friendly girl with a great family.

The next litter of kitten was the Auntie kittens.  They were named after the Mama's Aunts that had passed away - Doris, Millie (Mildred), and Tooty (Gladys).  They were sweet little things!

Then we had the Furreign Exchange Students.  Asha Billi representing India.  Cosette LaFurr representing France.  Giovanni il Gatto representing Italy.  Otto von Katzen for Germany and Liam O'Moggy for Ireland.  Giovanni and Asha were the shy two out of the bunch.  In fact, Asha wouldn't be caught when it came time to be spayed so she spent a couple extra weeks with us.  During that time she really blossomed!

October was a great month in Kansas City with the Kansas City Royals winning the World Series.  It was only appropriate that this litter was named after some of our favorite Royals players.  This litter was also one of the friendliest we've ever had and they were even able to star in some videos for Hallmark!  Dani and Purrez were adopted by Mama's friend, Tara so we get to watch them grow up!  They are doing great but we hear they can be very naughty sometimes.

Next came the Soup Kittens.  The Mama kitty was named Campbell after the good Samaritan that found them.  Since it was starting to get cold, we decided to name them after different soups.  We had Sweet Pea, Pepper, Barley, and Noodle.

Finally, we end the year with Pat and Kit Kat.  They had already had their surgeries by the time they came to us.  There wasn't room at the adoption center so they came to us so they wouldn't get sick while waited.  Guess what?  They got sick anyway!  We were able to nurse them back to health.  Since they were extremely shy, we were also able to give them some lessons in humans.  They were really coming out of their shells by the time they went to the adoption center.  We are pleased to say they were adopted right after Christmas!

We were able to help 21 cats through our foster Acatemy where kittens were able to get healthy and learn lessons that will help them become successful, kitty family members.  2015 was a great year.  We can't wait to see what 2016 has in store for us!

Happy New Year!

Famous Kittens

Gus:  It's true.  The kittens that are taking the internet by storm were students at our Acatemy.   They've graduated and found their furever homes.

WHAT???  You haven't seen the videos yet?  You have to see them!

Aren't they awesome!  Thanks to Maxwell, Faraday, and Allie's Mom from A Tonk's Tail for making these videos and allowing our students to star in them.

Feel free to comment on how adorable our students are!  Oh, and share the videos with your friends and family.  After all, who doesn't love cat videos?

Adoption Selfies on Monday

Gus:  Someone (looking at Mama) was slacking over the weekend and we missed the Sunday Selfies.
We have some exciting adoption selfies.  Both Alexa and Erica were adopted this weekend!

All of the Kansas City Royal Kittens have been adopted!!!  But I still can't seem to get rid of them.  Dani now Bellatrix and Purrez now Pippen are staying with us.  Their new mom is on vacation so we are kitten sitting.  Only one more day and then we are kitten free.  Bring on semester break!

The most exciting adoption though was that of Pearl's boyfriend and Mama's intern, Ebony.   Ebony was adopted after almost 600 days in the shelter!

Ebony waiting to meet his new mom for the first time.

Ebony supervising his own adoption.
The volunteers had a Going Home Party for Ebony where there were lots of happy tears.

And lots of hugs!
Ebony was ready to go home!  He got in the carrier all by himself.
Ebony left in style - riding shotgun in a convertible on a beautiful, fall, Kansas City day!

And they all lived happily ever after!

Gus:  I am so proud of our graduates!  Four graduates found furrever homes this weekend.  Here are there adoption selfies.

They couldn't have found better homes!  Erica and Alexa are back at the Acatemy until there is room at the Adoption Center.  They are hoping these selfies will help them find their homes.

Sunday Selfies - Worst Students Ever

Gus:  Happy Sunday, Everybody!  Hopefully (paws crossed), today is the last Sunday Selfies for this group of minions students.
These students are the worst ones ever.

They purr ALL THE  TIME!

The Mama can't sit on the couch without having the little purr machines all over her.

There isn't any room on her lap for me!

You can barely hear yourself think with all the purring.

Don't they know you need to be more selective with your purring?
